Who I Am

Based in Zihuatanejo, I am a passionate writer & career educator committed to weaving stories of resilience and hope.

My journey encompasses not only writing and encouraging others to write for personal transformation, but also my dedication to enriching the lives of children and women through education and fundraising, highlighting the profound impact that books, literacy, language and education can have on every individual.

My Vision

Inspiring Literacy, Writing, Storytelling & Change Makers

Creating, reading and sharing stories empowers us all. Words facilitate connection, dreams and imagination, as well as convey practical and inspired wisdom.

Whether you are an aspiring writer, author, educator, artist or social media storyteller, your voice and vision have impact.

My forthcoming memoir and the series of short stories, THE ZIHUA DIARIES, shares how travel, writing, cultural immersion, and the challenges and joys of partnering with a visionary Nahuatl educator in Zihuatanejo, Mexico to create access to education for all not only changed me, but the hundreds of lives we encountered and empowered.

Education & literacy give voice, hope and brighter futures to advance social equity and inclusion.  Words, storytelling, language diversity and the preservation, teaching and use of indigenous languages and wisdom matter.

You can also support my on-going work to advance literacy for all with a donation to LIBROS PARA NINOS-ZIH, which works year round in Zihuatanejo to help working and street kids, mothers, and others in need with free books, learning kits, personal care supplies and enouragement.
